I didn't expect this also but the only difference was that I unchecked the "Open using Rosetta" option.
Nothing else.

I let it run for 30 minutes and checked that no CPU overload warning appears.

I did a little test with 44.1/24, 256 BS and 5 Pitch II Plugins on every track.
Rosetta 70 tracks, nativ 256 tracks (maybe some more but I stopped adding tracks).

With a 16" MBP M1Pro 32GB.

So I guess only beta versions are updated to GM versions all the rest stays at 5.4.1.

Where did you find 5.5.0?
Using 5.4.1 and updater says it's the latest.

I got tons of shi##y tracks but I never ever need to gain it 20db above 0dbfs to adapt it to the rest of the tracks.
If this happens something else must be completely gone wrong.

I just can't imagine how this kind of mistake will be made by a "pro audio guy"?

Any 32bit float file I get from a client I convert it by import into a 24bit fixed.
For me there is no reason for using 32 float....

An ultra-soft field recording is not leveled at 0dbfs.
The problem is if you gain a file 20db over 0dbfs.
