Re: Crappy sound of the magma 2 slot chassis question

I think the power supply in the Magma 2 slot is actually quite good, certainly the equal of most other computer supplies. I tested it and it seems quite stable. Maybe the interface board or card is...

Re: Best headphones? Wireless?

The big disadvantage to wireless anything is bandwidth and hence expense. If you want good quality and good bandwidth audio like 40hz to 20 Khz you need a very expensive transmitter and receiver...

Re: 25 feet of midi or serial (which one)?

I have run over 30 feet of serial cable between midi Timepieces and a G3, but it was a single run of high quality shielded Data cable, carefully terminated. It worked fine.

Re: Problem revisited: Dropped frames in video capture

I have found the issue of dropped frames to be more to do with the quality of the tape transfer and replay machine than anything. For example I will almost always get dropped frames when using...

If you don't mind AIFF files a way out is to do an audio export from Premiere after you capture. That's assuming of course that you use Premiere. It seems slightly...

Re: Why does ProTools stop AppleCD from playing simultaneously?

Yes it is annoying isn't it, I would like it to work properly too. I think it has something to do with the way ProTools uses the DAE and Sound Manager not working together.

I also feel it doesn't...

Re: Digital Patchbay

Impedance matching in analog is as important as digital for slightly different reasons. Changes in impedance affect frequency response. Again cable lengths are a factor.

Also a problem I faced...

An impedance mismatch causes reflections or...
