For rock guitar tracks, after doing the usual doubling thing, do a third (or /and fourth) track with a less distorted sound to add more punch and have a more articulate sound and a wider harmonics...

My set up is PTools mix core one mix farm and one dsp farm. Each interface is on its own card. I've swapped them to check...the same!

Fellows, here is what I do...
I generate a tone that reads 0db on a Dorrough meter, I then patch it directly into every inputs of the 888 and ad8000 (one by one) and adjust the inputs to read -16db....

Drummers are not to blame in any ways. The instrument is loud but if you play on a decent stage it is not even an issue...

I don't know PT free but look if you have the item "import track" in your menu (right after import audio to track if I remember correctly). If so, you'll be able to select chunk of 8 tracks.

I did the same thing, 867 and Atto with fwb and silverlining formatted drives. First, Digi recommends atto 2.3.4, so that's what I did, just to be on the safe side. And in my case, I had to re-format...
