Re: My Pro Tools does not work! I can't get it to work with iLok

Thank you. I had submitted a case, and in fact, a second case since I thought maybe they lost track of the first one. They have replied and told me they are closing the duplicate case, but I have...

Re: My Pro Tools does not work! I can't get it to work with iLok

I think I've got the same thing going on here. Southsidemusic, if you'd be so kind as to notify Avid for me as well, I'd very much appreciate it! I opened a ticket via the Support Center on 11/3 and...

Re: Plugin issues and DAE errors

Oddly-specific error message then, if that's the case. But I'll go with it. :-) Thanks for getting back to me!

Question Re: Plugin issues and DAE errors

I contacted IK and they advised me to remove and reinstall the plugins as admin, and then to run PT as admin. It worked! I had PT8 checked to run as admin, but I guess I never set that for 9. Oops....

Re: Plugin issues and DAE errors

I finally let PT move Amplitube and Ampeg SVX UNO to the unused folder, and lo and behold, the crashing on closing PT has gone away. So it seems highly likely those were related.

So...

Re: Plugin issues and DAE errors

I've got Amplitube 2 v2.1.4, and Ampeg SVX UNO v1.1.1 installed. They both launch just fine in standalone mode. They are both authorized already. They also both work fine in 9.0 (upgraded from 8)...

Re: PT9 installation problems.

I finally got PT9 to install. I left off my 003R and that allowed the drivers to install without blue-screening. After seeing the actual PT installer crash during the "Pace license support" step, I...

PT9 installation problems.

I can't get PT9 to install properly. I first cloned my system drive (thankfully) and then proceeded to try the upgrade installer. I'd done the same thing with my MBP and it worked perfectly. On my...

Re: Condenser Mic not getting picked up

Make sure phantom power is on. It's the "48V" button on the back. Then choose input 1 on the channel in PT (assuming your mic is plugged into input 1). Then arm the track. You should hear/see signal.

Re: What OS should I get??

There are benefits to running a 32-bit program in a 64-bit OS. For example, there is more RAM available to the rest of the system, so it's more stable at high RAM usages. Also, you can buy any...

Re: Pro Tools LE 8.03 + Win 7 64bit

the only customizations i've done are adding a hard drive, ram, an approved firewire card, and an extra esata card. i haven't gotten into ram timings and voltages and stuff since on the dell, those...

Re: Help with guitar and Eleven Le

if you're using an mbox, turn the mix knob to 100% mix, not input.

A suggestion to the OP - post an MP3 sample of what you're experiencing so the folks on here can listen for themselves. It may shed some more light on what's happening. Of course, describe any...

Re: Pro Tools LE 8.03 + Win 7 64bit

But what about this "little gem" that you seem to be willfully ignoring:

I think if Dells were actually incompatible for a specific documented reason, it'd be super-helpful information for many...

Re: Pro Tools LE 8.03 + Win 7 64bit

Yeah, I know you can't tweak the BIOS, so that's one demerit against Dell for sure. But if you install your own OS from scratch, that covers the bloatware issue. Oh well.

Re: Pro Tools LE 8.03 + Win 7 64bit

Okay, cool. So while #1 there is easily resolved with a cheap third-party FW card, #2 could be an issue. But I still wonder what hardware in particular that they use is the problem...

Re: Pro Tools LE 8.03 + Win 7 64bit

No offense, but that is not actually an answer. I'm looking for something concrete here, an actual cause - like "the chipset" or "the ram" - something physically present (or absent) in Dell's...
