Thanks, I'll do a search for Pro Tools Free DUC. I'm wondering if its just better, though, to use PT with my IMac than
with my iBook and external FireWire hard drive.

Okay, someone posted that the solution for "latency" is to monitor from the input of what I'm recording. They also said it is easy if I use an external mixer. But I'm not quite sure how to confifure...

So you are successfully using PT Free with your iBook, iMic and some sort of adapter for 1/4". I'm only using the iMic
and have tried to record guitar through
a J-Station, but the delay is killing...

Can I use my iBook with Pro Tools FREE? It works fine with my iMac, but
when I record onto the iBook (using an iMic), there is a delay which makes it impossible to overdub in time.

I'm brand new...
