Re: Distortion at the end of midi clips when bussing / bouncing down???

Re: Midi issue with 2 USB Inputs

That default setting might be why the drums are triggering the piano falsely, which the OP is experiencing.

To avoid this OP could try designating each instrument's MIDI transmit channel, matched...

Re: Midi issue with 2 USB Inputs

Have you set the drums and piano to separate MIDI channels on each device? and both corresponding Pro Tools channels or 'tracks' you're recording each on?

Re: How likely are you to recommend Avid to others?

Pretending your question isn't rhetorical...it would depend on the "others" planned use for a DAW of course.

If the people seeking our sage advice were planning to open a soundstage or major...

Re: Should I install 32gb RAM on mac mini?

Especially if Apple silicon is in your future, and you're not hitting the ceiling now with your few VI's....

Re: Plugin to route audio out to bus

Never seen a plug that does what you're asking for. Others here may have.
One possible workaround might be to set up dedicated Aux Channels/Sends for each plug instance and then send/sum/blend that...

Re: Countoff not working / recording defaults to start of track

This can happen when pre-roll is set too long, but you've likely checked that.

And you won't be waiting months for software... Good hunting!

Re: Deciding on Computer Upgrade Path...

Running the same Avid un-approved 2.3 Ghz i7 chip here and having the same issues with ever decreasing performance
under later versions of PT.
Sticking with what works is usually the wise move,...

Re: M1 Mac Mini USB Bus/Port test

Flipped the USB ports/plugs and there's no change in speed to either branch according to Sys Info. I'll try actually transferring some data both ways and time it to be sure.

Re: M1 Mac Mini USB Bus/Port test

Physically before? Temporally before? Nothing is externally daisy-chained and the 2.0 devices are on a different USB port than the USB 3 devices. So, if SI indicates connection
at two different...

M1 Mac Mini USB Bus/Port test

FWIW tested USB bussing on a 2020 Mac Mini (9,1) using USB 2 & USB 3 devices connected separately to the two USB ports.
As hoped and expected the USB tree appears to provide two discrete 'bus...

Re: Need Help Comparing Processor Speeds on Older MacBOok Pros

Perhaps more stable under load. Probably not a huge speed jump between the two clock rates, but in a strict bench test one might expect some different numbers. Experts here could be more specific...
