It s still working for me.
I just make sure that I am in keyboard focus mode.
But the F key does create cross fades... not focus.
The focus tool can be selected by using cmd + 1

Try to get a balanced tone.
"balanced as in": wanna hear as much of the kick, snare, OH, hi hats, toms, etc...

No hi hat that goes TSH TSH TSH and cymbals that go SPLLAAAAAAAAASH with the rest...

It will work with S for solo and M for mute too.

It saddens me to see that most of the automation shortcuts are only for PT HD but one of them...
