Pro Tools 2022.7 will automatically convert sd2 files when opening a legacy session. No need to go back to PT10.

If this was a genuine customer "reward" they would give us permanent licenses of all the Avid plugins packaged with our permanent Pro Tools Ultimate licenses, rather than them expiring when we stop...

the only problem would be if he needs to keep punching into the previously punched area, but he could just pull the clip gain fader to -infinity each time on the ref track - and punch away.

I can virtually guarantee that they won't be. Avid are literally banking on that uncertainty for customers. The bean-counters won't allow it.
