Re: Sound when recording mode is doubled.....

Seems like you have two feeds. In a typical set-up, you should not hear any input unless the track is record enabled.

Re: Voices versus Stereo tracks

Another suggestion to help you get acquainted with PT:
Unless you're recording multiple tracks simultaneously, get rid of all the outboard gear and mixer for now. Try to experiment 'in the box'...

Re: how to free resouces in pro tools ,pro tools cant keep up during play back

You can free up some resources by using plug-ins on aux tracks rather than multiple instances of the same plug-in on individual tracks. Is this what you're asking?

Re: 1394 issues

If it ain't broken, don't fix it! ;)

Seriously though, if you aren't getting any communication or buffer errors, don't sweat it...

Re: Windows xp 64-bit

Even if you COULD get it running, there would really be no advantage as PT is still a 32-bit program.

Re: Creative Collection not installed

I'd start by trying to install the program. If the Creative Collection doesn't install properly, call Digi tech support.

Good luck!

Re: hip_hop_55868.zip From PTMP 8.0

Be sure to actually check playback of the .wav files to ensure they are not corrupt.

Re: help with uploading music file

Not sure what ou mean by 'seperate into Left / Right'...

Anyway, use the 'bounce to disk' option. Use 16-bit / 44.1k setting to create your stereo .wav file. If you have MP3 option installed,...

Re: The operating sustem hel off interrupts for too long

You also might have more responses by posting in the LE forum (as you indicate you're using the MBox2).

Re: How can I get my Voice to sound alive and like other people songs (my*song includ

Very good advice by solidwalnut & albee. You can also put a touch of compression on the track to help 'level out' the peaks and lows, making it easier to place in the mix... Be careful not to...

Re: Plugin Load Times??

As Greg M said, uprade to Waves 6. The plug-ins seem to load MUCH faster. Also, I try to only load plugs that I actually use often. If you move the plugs you don't use often to the unused folder, you...

Re: Creative Collection not installed

Glad to help. At least now you you know what the problem is! I had to download a few files a couple of times to get a clean copy myself...

Re: PT8 Upgrade

Well, it's hard to tell much without your specs.

First, you may want to take an image of your existing hard drive so that you can get back to that state quickly if something does go wrong...

Re: How can I get my Voice to sound alive and like other people songs (my*song includ

For starters, what microphone and preamp are you using to record your vocals? A good microphone, and one properly suited to your voice can make all the difference.

Re: My Book USB hard drive

If your external drive has the option to use firewire, use that. If not, you may want to record to an internal drive and use your external drive for storage only. While it may work to record, you'll...

Re: Backup Vocals

Yes, using an aux for all the reverb is a good way to save CPU resources. You may want to EQ individual tracks, unless they are the same voice needing the same EQ settings.

Personally, I like to...

Re: MBox - importing session data, missing audio!?

Exactly. I'd bet that the entire session may be too large to email anyway. Your best bet would be to have your friend convert the session to 44.1k and send the entire session directory to you on DVDs.

Re: Going to buy a new Desktop PC, concerned with PT8 Vista Compatibility

Agreed. If you have the ability (or patience to learn) to build your own system, you'll likely end up with a faster machine at half the price of what you'd pay in stores.

Check out the sticky...

Re: Creative Collection not installed

This error will occur if the installation files were not extracted properly. After downloading the PT8 software, use WinZip to extract the files (I've seen older versions of WinRAR cause issues)....

Re: Pro Tools Installation Hangs

It doesn't appear that the program knows where to install the program. On the 'choose destination' page, use the 'change' button to designate your system drive.
