When formatting the drive, go to Partitions, not erase, select "1 partition"
then click "options", the Apple Partition map should be fine, hit "okay", then you can name it, use the Mac OS Extended...

it depends on what your big picture is. if you are generating revenue 5 days or more a week and you are rewarded for your pace (billing per project rather than per hour), it might be hard to justify...

it's either your G5 or your hard disk system. I destructive punch/record 90% of the time on mac pros with internal satas and there are no lag issues recording a 5.1 mix, 5.0dx stem, and 2channel...

For my personal rig, I was on G5 dual 1.8, 4g's of ram with hd4accel. I moved to a dual 2.66 with pe6r4 chassis (changed power supply and front fan)....and it's been great. At work I'm on a dual 2.66...

haha, point taken, other than the fact that we adjust the latency with QUARTER FRAMES in pro tools.

used a sony bravia a couple weeks ago fed through hdmi on mac pro 2.66. Bravia was on the stock video card and we used syncheckII to arrive at 4 quarter frames.....

I mix a lot of ADR on both episodics and features. For international mixes, it's pure ADR.

Sansamp Loses Audio

Anyone experience sansamp losing audio.
I have an automated send to it and it lost 90% of the audio level sent to it (confirmed the channel is receiving audio). I had another plugin (eq3) in line...
