For work for hire, I look at it like a job (which it is…) and pull an 8 hr shift,...

A forever machine is fine until you add a piece of hardware or plugin that requires an operating system beyond your computer’s ability to run, then all bets are off. My 2012 Mac Mini still...

I’ve got this in another DAW I use, but honestly have never used it…for the way I work, it’s easier just to insert effects/VI/whatever. I dunno, maybe those younger than I would.

I bought a refurb 2018 Mini 32G machine the other day. To port over everything from my now retired 2014, had to update the new machine to Sonoma, where everything works as it should PT wise....

FWIW: I purchased a Clarett 4+ not too long ago, and ran into the same trouble. Had to manually set the Clarett routing using their none too friendly internal mixer control app.

Maybe just habit, but I tend to convert instrument tracks to audio as soon as possible..especially drum tracks. Old habit, but works well. I’ve never run out of horses when keeping this audio.

They are at the expense of audio, mics, etc...trying to make PT like Cubase/S1 et al only waters down the whiskey...

How about making the strongest audio package that no one else can compete with,...
