a) in Control Panel > Mulitmedia > disable Digi Audio & Digi MIDI (you'll need a second sound card in order to use, say, Sound Forge at the same time...

I think I may have sorted this problem out with the Asus / AMD / Digi combo.

1) Stick the Digi001 in PCI slot #3 [slot #1 share IRQ with the graphics card and #2 shares with the onboard RAID...

If you're mad about plugins & effects - forget PTLE and use your Digi001 with Emagic Logic... there are loads of legally free VST & Direct X plugs on the net plus the 20+ standard Logic ones piss...

If you want to streamline what is running in Windows, do the following:

Goto START > RUN > "msconfig.exe"

Click the "Load Startup Group Items" so that it becomes un-checked. Reboot.

Yes - no problem at all... I use a 600Mhz PIII Pavilion 8613 with additional hard drive & 256Mb RAM.

You will have to realy trim down Windows on your Pavilion though as Hewlett Packard install...
