Re: Switching Computers....How do I transfer Mpowered????

Ditto to what Soul Fader said.

Also, you might want to create an "Uninstalled" or "Installers" folder in your C: Directory. I have, and I keep all my essential software, plug-in and driver...

Re: Database Files ALL over my drives ??

Totally normal. ProTools will write a "Digidesign Databases" folder on every drive that is mounted on your system whenever you launch it. So, your C and D drives will always have these folders on...

Re: PT8: imported tick-based tracks not conforming to tempo

With tick-based tracks, they regions should move with the grid when the tempo is changed. They do when the tempo is changed manually, but not when tempo changes are inserted using the tempo bar. But...

PT8: imported tick-based tracks not conforming to tempo

Hi there. I have to do a lot of tempo mapping quite often. I've created a tick-based audio click track in a template session with each "click" separated into its own region. I then import this track...

Re: Inserting Measures into an already recorded session

I don't know the page, but you can navigate to the "Event" menu and under "Time", select "insert time". You can also get to the Time Operations menu by pressing "ALT+1".

I grew up in Thousand...

Re: Unbelievably annoying

If you're in the mix window, you can turn off the group by simply pressing the key that corresponds with that group. So, if for example your drums are group A, just press the "A" key to toggle the...

Re: M-Powered Help Files?

Interesting. I would definitely do it a bit differently if I were starting a new build today.

It's difficult for me to explain why I like it this way; it doesn't really do much from a strictly...

Re: M-Powered Help Files?

That's interesting, I've been doing it this way with all my audio programs for over 6 years without any problems. I always assumed that was why you were given the option of choosing a directory other...

Re: M-Powered Help Files?

I have this same problem in 7.0, I had always assumed it was because I installed into a directory OTHER than c:\Program Files\Digidesign (I keep all my audio programs in a separate directory- just...

Re: Extend a selection to a Marker

You can also do this by holding shift and punching up the desired maker with the NUM pad. I.E., if your selection begins at marker 2 and ends at marker 4, just shift and punch .+4+. and your...

Re: Master outs Pro Tools 7.1

You could also create 2 master faders, one routed to outs 1-2 and the second routed to outs 3-4.

Re: Metronome Problems

Personally, I like to use it on an instrument track. Then my click is assigned to OUT8 on my 1010, which goes to my mixer. I use the mixer to "ride" the click if necessary, to reduce click bleeding...

Re: More analog outs on ProiectMix I/O

If you were to use a second interface such as a set of analog converters connected to the PMIO via ADAT or S/PDIF, you should not need to connect that interface to your computer at all (expept...

Re: Level Meters - dB Indication?

Sometimes when I'm just about to track, I put the "trim" plugin on the track I'm about to record to and view it (with the trim set to zero of course!)- it has dB indication on it's meter.

Now...

Re: Burning Question!!!

1. Does the account you made for using PT have administrator priveleges? Try making that account the admin account and see what happens, maybe.

2. Are you recording onto your system (C:) drive? If...

Re: Free Vsts

Plenty of that stuff at the kvr site. Enough, in fact, that you'll be uninstalling several of them later because of redundancy.

As far as instruments, have you tried Xpand? While there are a lot...

Re: Weird Midi Problem...

It's also worth mentioning that drum machines are generally set to receive on channel 10, though if you change it to one that should be fine too.

Re: Discrepency between 1010 input levels and prot

Update:

Well, it SEEMS that this is mostly an issue of meter scaling and ballistics. At least that is my impression so far.

The meters in PT do not have any kind of marking to tell you where...

Re: Delta 1010 setup - i/o panel?

Discrepency between 1010 input levels and protools

I seem to be having an issue where there is a pretty significant difference between the input levels of my delta1010 and ProTools input meters. I can be at the point of almost clipping the 1010 (both...

Re: Armrest makes me blue

Armorall works great, just be sure to wipe the armrest dry after applying it. You don't need to apply a lot- MINIMAL application is best.

Use a rag that you don't mind getting blue, and dry it off...

Re: Control Surfaces with M-Powered

Even the Icon doesn't use a master fader. The only exception is one of the "Custom Faders" modes that will display your master faders in the custom faders bank.

Unlike other programs, Master...

Re: Play on a MIDI track while a song plays

Definitely sounds like midi feedback, as MDog said. A quick way to bring a system to it's knees.
