Re: Waves L1+ sonic problem

Chris,

I did think of that, too and checked the levels there, but will try it again today, maybe I left out something. Hopefully it is some sort of analog problem. I may try other inputs on my...

Re: Waves L1+ sonic problem

No, as I mentioned in my first post, the L1+ is instantiated on the master fader. It is the only plug-in on the master that I'm using.

Corey: The master fader doesn't clip when I experience this...

Re: Waves L1+ sonic problem

Thanks for your replies, guys. I will try the Audiosuite idea and, Bob, I'm glad to hear you can corroborate that distortion can occur without indication. When I crank the threshold way down towards...

Waves L1+ sonic problem

I've owned the Waves Gold Bundle for over 2 years and have used the L1+ on lots of things.

I am working on some guitar duet recordings and using the L1 not to squash, but to keep the occasional...

Re: setting record levels into ProTools with the intent of mixing in ProTools

I've been following the other discussions about the disputed idea of Resolution vs. Dynamic Range that Nika has been participating in on other boards and I have to say I found evidence against this...

Re: setting record levels into ProTools with the intent of mixing in ProTools

Nika & Dr J:

err, thanks, but I did mention that this intelligence could be had (at length) "on another forum" which meant the others you frequent, like EQ or some of the newer, non mfgr specific...

Re: setting record levels into ProTools with the intent of mixing in ProTools

Nika,

Can we take you up on that offer to get the "Long Answer" on converters, perhaps in another forum? Converters are like religion to some and the fact that new ones arrive constantly is fuel...

Digi ATTO card no longer mounts SCSI drives

All of a sudden, any connected drives don't mount and I have to mount them from EPT. They are Storcase DE-100s.

Using:
ATTO Digi branded DC card (1.4.4 & 2.3.2)
G4 350 sawtooth
704MB RAM

Re: Digi ATTO card no longer mounts SCSI drives

I heard that Kingston are suggesting repeater/isolation boards for these recieving bays. Anybody heard of this?

All of a sudden, drives no longer mount on Digi ATTO DC

Yes, it's true.

I have to open the ATTO EPT app and mount them. I have tried re-initialising them and installing new drivers. The settings in the EPT seem normal (as per Compato). What the hell?

Re: Can anyone give me some info on Nuemann u47fet?

The fet makes a nice choice for horns like trumpets and other brass, though I've never tried it on woodwinds. True about the kick mic thing. That and a D12E or 421 is golden.

Re: Disk Too slow or fragmented error?

Ya know, in reality fragmentation is so rarely the cause of a -9073 error. The fact that the dialogue box mentions fragmentation (I think) is kind of a mind-****. You're much more likely to have too...

Clocking confusion: Digital Sync vs. USD

How does clocking work when a USD is in-line and you are taking clock from an external source?

If a bank of 888|24s are taking an AES input into 1-2 and Sync Mode in the Session Setup is set to...

Re: Clocking a Rosetta with USD, video ref

Thanks Roger, I thought as much. I understand the necessity of feature cutting-as-cost-cutting, only it's a shame that one cannot always get the best advice from salesmen, as in my friend's case.

Clocking a Rosetta with USD, video ref

Working with a friend's rig.

If one wants to use a blackburst generator, and an Apogee Rosetta, are you simply S.O.L.?

It amazes me that the Rosetta has no kind of video or WC inputs at all. Is...

Re: Undocumented keyboard shortcuts

Option-(-): thats a good one! I'll definitely use that.

I recently started using the "enter start/end/length" and its neighbour, "enter main counter" a lot. Command key focus is a godsend.

I like omnis for Ac Guitar. B&K 4003s are great for this, pretty much anywhere, although the tradition placement works well. Been wanting to try the Earthworkses for this, too. I usually hate the...

Re: thoughts on Focusrite EQ plug-in

I have to agree about the high end thing. Something I feel most EQ plug-ins lack is a high shelving that is really nice sounding. Yet when I need it I find the d2 sounds the best. It puts some small...
