Re: Avid: A question about "bug fixes" after my plan runs out

My plan just expired, but I'm happy to park it where it is.
No telling when I'll resume... could be years... maybe never.

But I doubt I'll use another DAW... Protools is THAT good.
Of course,...

Re: Make Cloud Collab an optional install.. and not the default in the new session di

If you click on the Avid logo on the top right of the DUC, you'll see why that will never happen.

Re: Upgrade Plan is current, but a new license/bundle wasn't provided for 12.6

Right... that was highlighted by mistake.

See, that's where I got confused. Logically, you'd think that you'd go to the current plan, surrender it, then go to the new one and activate it, but...

Re: Upgrade Plan is current, but a new license/bundle wasn't provided for 12.6

Well... thanks for opening a case... even thought I didn't request it.

Unless I'm reading this wrong the license with the blue flag has to be surrendered correct?
If that's true, I have no reason...

Re: Upgrade Plan is current, but a new license/bundle wasn't provided for 12.6

Just in case anyone's confused;), It wasn't necessary to have my iLok attached to see what's available or what was contained on my iLok.

I just logged in, highlighted my user name, and saw all...

Re: Upgrade Plan is current, but a new license/bundle wasn't provided for 12.6

That screenshot was take off ilok dot com...
My ilok wasn't connected.

Regardless, why does my old license say subscription?
Is should say perpetual. It should be clearly stated.

Like the old...

Re: Upgrade Plan is current, but a new license/bundle wasn't provided for 12.6

Why don't I see the word perpetual in my current plan?

What am I missing?

Re: Upgrade Plan is current, but a new license/bundle wasn't provided for 12.6

So my perpetual license is up by the end of November. I could just stick with 12.5.2, but I'd like to try 12.6.

My concern is, will I get another perpetual license, so I can use 12.6 until the end...

Re: PT12.5 Does NOT fix GUI Lagging as it proclaims

I've noticed editing MIDI in 12.5 to be very sticky.
Like moving in mud.

Went back to 12.3.1... unless someone has a solution.

Re: Why is it???

On a PC, if you have MacDrive and Protools 10, that will work.
That's what I do.
Doesn't handle a session like 9 did, but it does convert SDII.

A Mac running Protools 10, will load old sessions...

Re: 12.5 is failing badly.

I took the plunge with 12.5.
Loads faster than previous version. Very solid on my system.
Fingers crossed!

Great work.
Maybe "Solved" should be added to the threads title???

Re: 12.5 is failing badly.

This should be emphasized!

The computer I use for Protools is totally dedicated to Protools.
It seems unfair, especially if you can only afford one computer, but it's one of the best way to avoid...

Re: What next?

Many of us, out of necessity, have been doing it all ourselves.
And software has been aiding with that in every conceivable way.
It's been fantastic!!!!

So, who really needs to collaborate?...

Re: What next?

When I first heard of CC, I thought Avid was giving us a system where collaborators could work together in realtime.
I thought, that would make all the difference, but that's not what we've got.

Re: What next?

I just checked out the 6 videos on CC.
I do appreciate the work that went into incorporating it into protools.

But the question is, what's in it for me?
I'd love to see a video on how to make...

Re: Noise Blasts in PT 12

I forgot to mention hardware.

What about the type of RAM installed?
Not just the amount, but its speed and latency.
How about the CPU?

What about the use of SSD's and SATA 3?

Re: Noise Blasts in PT 12

Since there is no rhyme or reason to when these blasts occur, I'll use Protools exactly the way I want.
No jumping through hoops. If I get blasts, I'll let you all know.

Is it rapid fire editing?...

Re: Noise Blasts in PT 12

I did... when I was tracking...
But when mixing, I had ADC enabled.

Don't get me wrong, if I start getting noise blasts as regularly as some of you do, I'll be looking into another DAW.
If...

Re: Noise Blasts in PT 12

Just to be clear, I'm just telling you what Avid claims. I don't know if it's true.

But since no one has come forward saying it doesn't work, I assume it does.
I hope so...

Re: Noise Blasts in PT 12

Yes, Avid says disabling ADC is the workaround in 12 to avoid noise blasts.
But I'm starting to think that the people who've had blasts are hand shy about using 12.

They don't want to hear...

Re: Noise Blasts in PT 12

Yesterday I tracked in 12 for the first time.
Finally got up the courage after having 12 since the end of Nov of 2015.

A couple of backup vocals and a miked acoustic guitar part.
Left ADC off......

Re: Noise Blasts in PT 12

According to Avid, if you use Protools without ADC enabled, you won't have any problems with noise blasts.

Has anyone had noise blasts with ADC disabled?
