Re: Best Software Drum option...

I agree with those three. EZ Drummer is another one and is on sale right now at Sweetwater for like $29 -- it needs a bit more tweaking than the others. I use Addictive 1.5.2. I love the program....

Re: help

You did download the drivers and install them, right?

Go to the support page of Avid, and it's kind of a drill down menu to get to the drivers.

Make sure you uninstall the old drivers from the...

Re: MP3 Option Dilemma

* Bounce your file to .wav.
* Download Audacity, and download the LAME.dll
* When you load Audacity, just tell it where LAME.dll is located
* Load your .wav into Audacity
* Export it as .mp3.

Re: Pro Tools 10 - Make money instead of performance

I'm in this boat. Thank you for the Nuendo price correction. I use a ton of VSTis (or VIs). Pro Tools is very clunky for setting up multis, and I used to crash a lot with it. I got Studio One. I love...

Re: DAE errors Please help!

The minimum requirements on the box are just what is necessary to install. I don't even know why they bother putting those there. After seeing your system I'm not even going to bother to tell you to...

Re: How to improve performance of VI's in Pro Tools.

1.5 TB Glyph Drive for VI samples. Best investment I've made on hardware. Previously they were stored on my boot drive. I got lots of errors.

Still due to the sheer quantity I use, I use a...

Re: Can anyone help me with my MIDI problem???PLEASE RESPOND!!!

Speaking of weird crap with MIDI. My M-Audio Oxygen wouldn't load as a MIDI device in PT 8. I've been running PT 8 on XP for three years now WITH this same keyboard. It appears to have lost its mind....

Re: Help! Pro-Tools M-Powered 8.0.5 keeps crashing - Komplete 8

And this is why I didn't upgrade from XP. It's getting all this kind of crap sorted out. I don't know much about Win 7.

I have two PCs. One runs XP and this one runs 7. I was amazed at how much...

Re: Using 2 MIDI controllers in Pro Tools 9.

Let me guess. They're both USB, right?

Make sure one is connected to USB Audio Device, and the other one is connected USB Audio Device (2). Input only. You don't need to send to them, unless you...

Re: Urgent PT8 LE installation problem. Help!

Fast Track Pro is a very decent interface. I've been using one for three years. It has S/PDIF. And with other DAWs it supports the M-Audio ASIO Driver. I wonder if PT MP9 does as well? It should,...

Re: Afraid to buy Axiom Pro Keyboard? Also, will a new one appear?

Re: 88 or 61 key (Keyboard)

Just FWIW -- get an 88 key. Why? Because some VIs have KS capability, and usually put those on the lowest octave which means you'll have to shift your keyboard one octave or more. Make sure you get...

Re: Pro Tools running slowly.

HD should be 7200 RPM. and you should have two of them -- one for OS and PT and the other for writing your audio.

Your file may have gotten corrupted.

Re: Do you really need a dedicated audio HD to record 24/96 tracks in Protools LE 8?

Get the second HD. WD Caviar Black SATA 7200 RPM 500GB or more. They're cheap and they're good. When your creation is on the line don't skimp here.

OR

Get a Glyph Drive. They'll go...

Re: Will this desktop run PT8 LE successfully/smoothly?

+3 on the WD Caviar Black drives. I've got two in the DAW and one in this machine.

If you want to go with an external drive, I'd check the Glyph drives. I've got a 1.5 TB 7200 RPM Glyph running...

Re: PT Freezes ... too often! (MP9,FTP, Win7 64)

I think this is the problem. 5400 RPM. You should have 7200 RPM minimum.

Re: Goodbye Pro Tools

I've found most problems are caused by third party plugins and VIs. Granted setting up multi-VIs in PT is a royal pain in the arse -- some day I hope they fix that issue (and yes I do have the work...

Re: Do you compress and EQ Ezdrummer tracks?

Definitely. I'm not as detailed, but I do split toms, cymbals, snare, kick, and cowbell or whatever. EQ, compress, sidechain whatever. It does take more time but the results are definitely worthy the...

Re: Reason 4 plug-in

I use Reason 4.

1) set up instrument track and label it Reason
2) If you've got a drum track you're going to play against I'd stick that in Pro Tools unless you want to use Redrum within Reason...

Re: Lost Pro Tools M-powered disc

You do have it registered on you iLok, right. You probably won't have to buy it again, but isn't paying for a phone call less than repurchasing?

You will get version 8.0 on the disk. The update...
