You might want to try using a scsi drive to read/write your tracks on. You won't have to worry about the CPU interrupting your IDE access that way.

You definitely want to go with a scsi drive for reading/writing the tracks in pro tools. I tried to send it to an IDE drive (by mistake actually) instead of the scsi drive I had installed and it...
