yeah that might be the problem.

That actually sounds more viable than anything else.

i am running mac drives for all my audio and using pro tools HFS support to read them... maybe i should use...

Just did uninstall and re install, 7.4 then cs9 updater problem still occuring

ok, so closing Pro Tools and re opening it after that error message is displayed stops its continuous playback problem BUT I definitely cannot get my project finished up by monday if this problem...

Would it help to tell you that the drive I am running audio off is a mac formatted drive and pro tools is using its built in hfs support?

Hi Thanks for getting back to me,

I did try trashing the preference and all db files also, I did that yesterday following the guide on the troubleshooting thread.

It just happened to me again,...

hmm... ok so a little follow up, it didnt happen all day yesterday but it happened today.

it seems that an error message pops up displaying "cannot find specified path", its then that the next...

REALY FRUSTRATING....

HD3 XP sp2

space bar, zero, mouse clicks, nothing can stop this from playing... The only way to stop the session from playing is to close the session which then makes PT...

nothing happens, still the same...

ok now this is really weird....

I just did a save copy in... and opened the newly saved session and presto STEREO... BUT...

i created a new track and hit...

ok so I just opened another session and i get audio in the right channel...

so it must be session specific... still cant work it out though.

Thank you, I did exactly that.

Actually i could see by this problem arising that it actually backs up pretty much after every time you hit stop when playing for more than 30 seconds. don't hold me...

Thats what I meant in my first post. I typed "as" instead of "in" but no unfortunately it was an application error and not a Hard Drive/Operating System problem

Correct, although I do save in incremental steps, i was only an hour into this session when the problem arouse thus not allowing me to save a new increment and also wiping the old session file.

Yes, and I apologize I should have been more clear, It shouldn't matter that we are in punch mode when using a midi track.
