Re: Best Systems and Components for Win HD/TDM

Hi all!
Very long time since updating the thread.
I will try to review and update the first post to reflect the new systems. Would anyone mind a PM or two to confirm details if needed please?

We also learned why Ewoks have padded feet. The answer does not come with PT10 though, and since we cannot post pictures... :p :D

Re: Hay DTS, better make a PT 10 General Section

The delay in doing so is part of why they extended ADC to 16k. :o :D

Re: PLEASE Implement this New Melodyne Tech

Interesting points to consider, IMO:
Melodyne is not actually "fully directly embedded" into the DAW. Rather, it is a *better* implementation of a plug-in version (+ Bridge?).

What I stated above...

I put PT9 in storage due to things like this. I simply got tired of having to play with so many variables when troubleshooting, and also for the...

Re: Moving to Reaper?

Ahhh...
Mono tracks.. if you place mono media on a track.. say, a mono sine wav.. it is actually being sent to BOTH channels. Using the "balance" control will simply determine how much is sent to...

Re: Moving to Reaper?

I apologize for my comments when quoting your post. You are deservedly excited about this, and my disappointment should not impinge on this.

Re: Moving to Reaper?

Epic Fail in too many areas for me. They listen to users? Yeah, about as much as Avid, Steinberg, etc. With many threads and a pretty detailed feature request in existence, Panning is still...

Re: Moving to Reaper?

It is not possible to do what I describe. Track outputs are limited.. completely and absolutely, and designated as such in the I/O.. to Hardware. Track-to-Track routings require use of Send(s)....

Re: Moving to Reaper?

No mono channels
With "ultra liberal track assignments," there is no way to buss to an Aux In, ala PT; tracks can ONLY be output (directly) to a hardware output. So much for flexability in routing. ...

Re: Pro Tools 9 Still Deleting Files

Initially, File->Import-Audio. Tried drag n drop after to see if it did differently. It did not, and then while inserting Oxford Reverb, PT did a hard lock, so I gave up on PT9 for now. Too many...

Re: Change buffer on 3rd party, Restart required?!?!?

Ahhh. Okay.
Since the device I am using (MR816 CS) seems to have this "reset request," but since other apps do not *suffer* this particular result, it should be something that will be resolved? If...

Re: Pro Tools 9 Still Deleting Files

Not sure if this is related, likely is not.
While trying to get PT9 to operate *properly*, I decided to import a song from another app. Import midi, no markers got imported, no big deal. Check...

Re: Change buffer on 3rd party, Restart required?!?!?

If nothing else, it is principle. It should work, period. If it works for OSX, and if it works with every other app I have ever tried.. it is simply another instance of Avid being a nail my eyelid...

Re: Change buffer on 3rd party, Restart required?!?!?

Okay.. making sure I understand this correctly:

With Windows 7 and a 3rd party I/O, changing the buffer size will require a save, quit, relaunch of PT9 every single time??? IOW, this is like...

Re: Change buffer on 3rd party, Restart required?!?!?

W7x64 here, so I am approaching that point of eliminating OSX as being affected at all with this (effectively). So!

Are there any Windows users that are able to use a 3rd party I/O and change the...

Re: Change buffer on 3rd party, Restart required?!?!?

^^^ it is solely a PT9 thing with 3rd party I/O

This is completely unacceptable. I would love to run around to billboards advertising PT9 as being "Now 3rd party interface compatible!!' and use...

Change buffer on 3rd party, Restart required?!?!?

SERIOUSLY???!!!!
This has completely ruined PT9 for me, and I seriously hope it is simply user error on my part.

If I try to change the buffer size (Hardware Setup, Launch control panel), it...

Re: When will pro tools introduce a truly modern GUI?

Huh. And I loved the old PT look (through pt7), and also.. PARIS!

That blue-gray boredom of Logic, Cubendo, etc... ugh. The sky in the Pacific NW loks like that for most of the year. I actually...

Digi MIDI I/O, PT9

Okay, I noticed that PT9 has some *new* drivers for the Digi MIDI I/O.
Has anyone tried these with a W7x64 based machine?
If yes, how is it going? How are you using it?

And, if yes, have you...

Re: HD1 or native

Just to clarify..
This would be: more voices than an HD1 system ONLY.
Add an HD Process (HD2), and the voices are even.
HD Native and HD have the same maximum voice limitations; it is HD1 not...

Re: Who needs 64-bit PT9? Not me!

Oh, come on! I was trying to be light-hearted.
The whole point is that it is possible to "make do" FOR NOW with a simple little ~$20 utility. VE Pro is, what, ~$300? Granted, you get more, and it...
