Re: cannot bus — bus is greyed out

That's exactly what happened. I have no idea how I managed to do that, but they were blank. The problem I have as a musician who doesn't use this stuff every day is I tend to forget where things are,...

cannot bus — bus is greyed out

In my mix window when I try to bus a channel to send to the reverb plug-in, the bus option is greyed out. For the life of me I can't figure out why. Any thoughts? This has happened on some, but not...

Re: Editing question--volume changes

Options>Automation Follows Edit

Hi, again, I'm using ProTools 6.9.2. I have looked and looked and I'm not finding that. There's no Options menu, and there doesn't seem to be anything like this...

Re: Editing question--volume changes

Thanks, I believe that's exactly what I was looking for. Haven't tried it yet this morning, but it seems right and I sense that that's the missing link. Sometimes for me using this program is not...

Editing question--volume changes

I'm not really sure how to explain what's going on. I'm working in slip mode and I've got a session that contains five tracks and is quite long. It contains some dialog and some music. There are...

Re: Pro Tools 6.9 Updates

Well, if I haven't learned anything else, I've learned this: Never do an upgrade in the middle of an important project. It's really pretty simple. In addition, one thing that I've done on my macs is...

Re: firewire drive can\'t be seen by OSX--was good

That's exactly what happened to mine, except data rescue couldn't find the files, either. Gone, everything.
The drive was corrupted but not bad, so that has been cleaned and I'm using it. I'm sure...

firewire drive can\'t be seen by OSX--was good

Hello. I'm using OS 10.3.3 on a powerbook G4/867. I was working on a small mix (four tracks and a little reverb) when all of a sudden the sound just squealed through my system, then I got the...

Importing an mp3

Hello. I've gotten an mp3 copy of some music from across the country that I'm supposed to add a track to. I need to import the mp3 into ProTools, then make the track and return it as a wav file. I'm...

Re: analog transfer, noise reduction question.

Yes, well, it would be nice if they'd labelled the tape better, etc. It seems pretty likely at this point that it was encoded with an external dbx box (I don't think dolby made an external box, and...

analog transfer, noise reduction question.

I've been asked to do a transfer and remix of some music that was recorded in the early 1980s. It's a quarter inch four track tape that was encoded into some kind of noise reduction, probably either...

Re: error message

Thanks. For some reason they were set to "transfer" rather than record. I have no idea when or how that could have happened, and frankly, I had no idea where to even look. Fortunately it was an easy...

I tried to open a soundfile tonight and got the following message: "12 audio files are on volumes unsuitable for playback. Would you like to copy them to a suitable volume?" If I say no, the session...

Re: Problem Importing Audio

No, it's just not showing up on the import list in the import dialog box. Nothing is greyed out. It's a region from another ProTools session.

ProTools LE 6.4 crashes when opening a session

I'm having a problem. I downloaded and installed PT6.4LE a couple weeks ago and I'm running OSX 10.3.3 on a PowerBook G4 867. Now, whenever I try to open a session or create one from scratch,...

Volume

I'm still pretty new to this stuff (Digi 002 rack) but I was a long-time Sound Designer II user. In SD, to raise or lower the volume of a region or area was pretty simple; you'd just tell it how much...

Re: MY DIGI 002 RACK DONT WORK

Mine had this problem too. They overnighted me a FedEx return tag, I sent them the machine yesterday. They claim I'll have it back tomorrow. If that's the case, that's wonderful service. Give them a...

Re: edit points in protools 6.1

Slowly but surely I'm starting to get the hang of it. I would love to see a feature where you could slide the edit point instead of (well, in addition to) both regions seperately, but this works. I...

Re: edit points in protools 6.1

I don't understand how to describe what I want to do, I guess. I have read the manual, although I can't say I really understand it. When you nudge this way you get a space. I don't want a space. I...
