I used to get this error until I disabled my Sound Blaster Audigy sound card. Once I did that the problem went away.

From what I remember, 128 is the lowest buffer setting the Mbox can run at. I moved up to a 002r, but I record at 128 frequently using the 002r if I have a few plug-ins running and can't run at 64. ...

Mine would do that when I had the Buffer set at 64. Increasing to 128 would fix it. I disabled my sound card and was able to use the 64 buffer.

Nope, the card was on it's own IRQ. Yeah, check to make sure your firewire card has the TI chip.
