Artist Control v2 -PC with 1 ethernet port
Hello,
I just bought an Avid Artist Control v2 for my Windows 7 54 bit PC running Cubase 6 64 bit. I currently have 1 ethernet port on my PC, which I am using for an internet connection. If I buy an ethernet PCI card for my Artist Control connection, would I have any conflicts or problems. Does it matter (on my PC) if the Artist Control is on a particular ethernet port? Or, is there a better solution when dealing with a PC with one ethernet port, like a Netgear 5 port ethernet switch, which would give me options down the road if I want to add a Artist Mix Control? Thanks for your help/experience. Can't find anything in the manual dealing with a PC with one ethernet port. |
Re: Artist Control v2 -PC with 1 ethernet port
If your Internet connection is via a router with multiple "LAN" ports, then simply plug the Artist unit into a spare one.
Otherwise you'll need a switch and/or a 2nd ethernet card. |
