Maximum length for TDIF connections out of 192's?

I'm preparing to convert my garage into a small editing/mixing room and trying to find the best place to set up a machine room in the space I have.

Wondering what the longest run of TDIF cables I can get away with to connect my 192's to my Tascam mixer?

thanks in advance

I think I've seen a 15 footer but don't quote me.
See what some of the online venders offers for length

Since its analog audio at line level, you could convert to XLR and go thru most any snake length. As for a single DB-25 cable, I would check with Proco and/or Whirlwind about custom cables as they might build any length you want. I have seen studios with interfaces tucked away in machine rooms and the cables had to be 75-100" at least.

did you want analog or digital?

Not Analog, TDIF Digital.

Craig F - most online vendors don't go beyond 15 footers, but there are some that go out to 25 ft. I can build the cables on my own just fine, but was mainly concerned with signal loss or any other problems associated with TDIF on even longer runs...like 40-50 feet. Unfortunately my Tascam DM-24 only has a single Stereo AES I/O (my understanding is that AES lines can pretty much run as long as I want), compared to 24Ch TDIF I/O.

I guess I'm just wondering if TDIF, like AES, can handle long runs without problems.

Any idea?

TDIF is a variant so SPDIF so it is unbalanced and length limited

If your mixer has AES go with that
