Last time I was in San Bernardino was back in 1985 US festival, man that was a fantastic time. wish I could play like that, keep it coming bratha.;)

Cheers guys :)

Got another one here:

This is my first attempt at mixing this style of music, done as part of a project for a uni assignment.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4814941/jazz%20master%202.wav

or YouTube - Funky Jazz Track (if so, watch at 720p, images of setup was not of my session however.)

What i'm most surprised at is how well xpand2 electric piano's fitted within the context of this track, with it all being traditionally recorded apart from that. Sax is lacking some warmth, but sounds ok for a first timer! Drum kit is nice and roomy which is great and suites it well. Great sounding kit.

Was recorded onto an Otari console into a couple of 96 io's and mixed in Pro Tools M-Powered back at home away from the studio.

Drums and bass tracked together, as are all the guitars. Vocals done separately.

This sounds great!
I love this tune and Ragged Bag Of Friends.

Hi ya'll.

Being relatively new to Pro Tools I take the plunge and send in this cover version of an old classic "Shine On Brightly" with Procol Harum.

I did the organ part on my Hammond B 3 and Leslie 122. The rest of the music is played from my Yamaha Tyros 3 keyboard including the guitar. Yeah, and I did the lead vocal too....so I did everything myself and would like very much to hear the thoughts of you more experienced ProToolers..... :-)

You can find the MP3 here at Box.net: http://www.box.net/shared/ygvztnziso

I have one problem though.... it seems problematic getting enough output gain from Pro Tools to the master track.....

Best regards,

Mike

These were all made on Sonar 8 (instrumentals are Reason Rewired).

Composed, arranged, produced, sung and engineered by yours truly (Dmitry Karpovich).
O, and the girl on the choruses is Kimi Liope

Enjoy! (I hope :)

Who can guess where I snagged the percussion sample on "Californ I Am"?

Lovin' the song! AWESOME

Maybe its the Youtube compression, but I hear something funny going on in the lower range, a clashing between the kick and the bass. I would tweak the kick a little so it doesn't sound so... hollow? If the 44/16 sounds OK, then please ignore my comments.
But I LOVE the song. Can I get it on Itunes?

Hi Everyone

I have been reading these forums for some time now and this would be the first time I am posting. I Would just like to thank everyone for their knowledge and help with all things protools.

I would like to share some of our music with the community.
The quality videos are not the greatest as they were recorded on an old digital camera. All songs were written and recorded in Protools LE.

Hope you enjoy them

Hi,

Thanks so much for the comments. Yeah there's defiantly a strange sound at the lower end. I often have trouble mixing kick drum + bass, but this is quite something else. Its much harder to find the small range of frequencies to cut the kick that it is with a traditional kick drum. Most of the 'kick' you hear in the track falls above the depth of the kick drum, and therefore lays sort of 'on top' of it, not below. Only way of adding any kind of transient or definition seems to be the clickyness range of about 1.5k. Not to mention acoustically it is hard to hear any definition of the drum when played live, just because that's the way it is. Very boomy when played live unfortunately. I'll take another look at it at some point and see if i can get it any better.. :)

Unfortunatly not quite got any of it on iTunes yet, but plan of doing so this summer. Just finishing off a few extra tracks to hopefully get a half decent demo out there. In the mean time, take a look at our other video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zQ9t...eature=related

Again, faults to be had by all accounts in terms of production, but hopefully you'll fundamentally enjoy the song in its entirety.

I'll update this as soon as any new material is ready. Got some pretty interesting stuff to follow!

What up fellas?! I know I've been poppin up a lot lately gettin comfy here. Here's my first album all done in 7.4-8 LE with my MC, Surg. These are some of my first recordings ever with Pro Tools, and pretty much a DAW period. So it may not sound as pro as some of you guy's stuff, but it sounds really good for having no training. But I've gotten much better since. All produced, recorded and mixed by myself.

Some of you may not dig it, but it's Hiphop. Real hiphop though, not the crap you here all over the place today. Please enjoy, leave feedback, tips if you like. Thanks!

Here's my first attempt at recording in Pro Tools (through an MBox 2 Mini and PT 8.0). The song is called Hope. All the other songs on the page are ancient recorded with poor equipment, so don't bother with them unless you're interested. Any comments would be greatly appriciated!

Hi there,

I am pretty new to remixing and this is my first proper attempt at it. It doesn't really change the style of the song too much, I just changed a few things, added some effects and a new few guitar and bass parts.

Any input at all would be greatly appreciated. I've only just got Pro Tools so I wasn't so sure what I was doing. I also couldn't figure out how to record guitar through the mbox on direct input so instead I recorded the parts on a digital recorder and imported them in as WAV files.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Northern Monkey's latest recording:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Biqdv19spwU

Unfortunatly the drummer who edited the video didnt get the sync right because of issues with some new editing software he was trying out, but if it bothers you just ignore the video!

Also added a 320kbs MP3 download to the comments section. May add the 24-bit 44.8 .WAV if anybody wants it?

Hi. Sorry forgot to add:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4814941/Stars%204.wav

But to clarify, the multitracking you can hear in the chorus is a second live performance stuck on top using elastic audio to get into time. There was no planned overdubbing afterwards, just nicked bits from the previous take to give it a bit of ummph. (not my youtube account, but was told about the comment, it was removed just because it looked like you were being 'arsy' about the whole 'live' recording in the title/description, but im sure you werent :-))

I like Northern Monkey!!! Very cool stuff. Gotta love folk music. Bass sounds good on my monitors and I like when the choir kicks in it has a very nice stereo effect.

Keep up the good work.

Ok well, I've posted 9 of my latest 40 songs I've been working on since the last year & 1/2. It's definately eclectic so don't judge based on 1 or 2 songs as the styles are pretty much all over the place. I've just put the 9 songs on myspace page which you can view here --> http://www.myspace.com/davidcicalo let me what you think. It's not perfect yet as I'm playing around with a few different things... I'd really would appreciate the feedback from listeners yay or nay. Thanks ahead of time...
