24 fps to 23.98

I've mixed a very detailed project at 24fps and the video got turned in for color correction, etc and converted to 23.98fps before I turned my mixes in. Is this gonna cause a problem? Will my mixes drift? Thanks

Interpret the sample rate at 47952Hz (0.1% slower) from 48K and then do a sample rate conversion back to 48K. Too small a difference to notice any pitch shift. That is assuming they did a 0.1% pull-down instead of dropping frames, which for this type of worfklow they probably did. But check first.

Thanks Tom - That sounds familiar - I know I've done this before, but can't find my notes. Could you be more specific as to the steps to take? Thanks! Eric

I think I've explained it pretty clearly. If you know how to use Pro Tools, you'll know how to do this.

Re: 24 fps to 23.98

Create blank session
Set Frame rates (TC and F+F) to 23.98
Import Session Data from your edited/mixed session
Check the Apply SRC box on the Right hand side of Import Session Data
Tell PT that the session you are importing has material at a sample rate of 47952

Once imported make sure to reset the placement on the timeline so that your sync pops (and consequently all other material) line up with the 23.98 picture correctly.
