Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

One year ago almost to the day, one of my drives crashed and all the prior Latest Stuff songs were lost. So I started a new LatestStuff file of mp3's posted(called AArdvark). There are over 140 folders from the past year, some with as many as 10 songs in them. Keep in mind that some songs posted are direct stream with no way to download the mp3, so if anything is missing that's probably why.
A lot of great music and talent here...thought you guys might find it interesting.

Hi John and Justin...
I was just posting the pic to show how many artists have posted, but if you want, I'll try to find a server to hold all the songs. There are about 2.7Gb of mp3's there, by the way.
I'll keep you guys posted...

A sad song.

Hey, guys. I haven't been around for a while, I had to sell my digi to pay some unexpected expenses, so I haven't been recording much music. But I'm going to get an mbox soon, in the meantime, I've recorded a track on my four-track tape cassette player from a billion years ago. It's probably an inappropriate song to post now that everyone's all partying and happy and stuff. But I hope you like it. It's about a woman I'd met in LA, her family had made her go to california for a vacation, because she had been at the bedside of her comatose son for four years. She told me what it was like to sit and wait there, and she wanted me to try to write a song for her, so I did.

Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone!!!! I've recorded this song:

http://www.lastounce.com/clock.wma
http://www.lastounce.com/clock.aif
(the original is the aif, the wma is a smaller size conversion...)

If anyone can listen to it and offere some suggestions as to the mix and the overall sound Iw ould really really appreciate it. I've worked on this mix a long time and it appears to be as good as I can get it, but I still dont think it sounds that good! I dont know...what does everyone think?

Happy New Year everyone,

I just finished installing Texas Specials in my Strat & was mucking about to hear what they sounded like (dead strings & all), it's just a quick improv thing, a mood piece I guess. Very rough, maybe one day I'll do a better version.

Planet Bin Laden

Storyline is 1 verse: there need to be a revenge for his father, excuse is needed, it was answer to prays, when plans hitted twin tower. 2. verse: travel to Iraq, you maybe get to real-TV, you are murdered, there are meeting between religions

Chorus: Planet Bin Laden is Iraq, gone wrong

double,
I wasn't looking forward to listening to any more Christmas music, but this is very cool...the arrangement is refreshing...love her voice, and excellent mix. Great job. Be sure and also post your non-Christmas stuff when you can.

Thanks Roy,

It's roughly 1/2 step down with a drop D(now a Db). I say roughly because I did it by ear, I was in too much of a rush to hear the pickups!

rchaffin,

Wow, what are you feeding those kids!!???? Not my kind of tunes, but very well done, tight!
Gotta get some Buckley's now...my throat hurts just listening to it.

What do you think about this?

Hello everyone!

I've been busy getting ready to record a demo for my band and trying to learn as much about recording as I can so I can avoid any big mistakes. This forum has given me alot good ideas and inspiration!

Here is the latest song were working on (no vocals yet):

new song

This isn't a demo or anything. Our band has a gig coming up here in Finland where most of our band members live. The thing is that our singer at the moment lives in Latvia! So this is the way we work for now. We make and instrumental version of the song and send him the PT session for him to sing the vocals on. This is the latest of those track and I kind of like the way it sounds.

Any advices would be greatly appreciated so we can make a killer demo

Thanks,

Jarkko

Not what I listen to either!! They're on the heavy side!! The singer sings like that ALL NIGHT and still is able to speak after a show!! Crazy!!

Puustinen: I'm listening to the track now and it's sound good to me, good variation without ever losing the thread that binds it all together! Let us know when you have some vocals on it.

Finne,

I did not understand what you were saying; however, music is an international language and I loved the music! I like your keyboard parts. So what kind of intruments did you use?

John Hey 01-04-2005 11:35 AM

Re: 2004 DUC Disc Update

Who needs coffe when you got this stuff!!!!

I never understood this type of music where they drown out the vocals to the point that you could not tell what they were saying (or in this case screaming). Overall it sounded good. Not exactly my favorite music, but it was done nicely.

For Planet Bin Laden:
Synths: Minimoog V plug and Reason; two subtractors, redrum and malmström. G: Gibson Les Paul and Vox Tonelab SE B: Ibanez Roadster bass (no good) and Sans Amp bass driver DI. Voc thru Baby blue bottle and Presonus MP 20.

There are one synth bass and one real bass playing same thing...

I am a Reason fan.

Finne,
My comment on 'Planet Bin Laden' was simply, "That's wild... ", which it is. I would think that's what you intended the song to be, so it should be taken as a positive comment. I'm definitely not concerned as to whether you 'make love songs' or not, so I don't get your comment.
