Crossfade X-Fade waveform graphic bug
1 Attachment(s)
2021.6 incorrectly draws the crossfade in the edit window waveform display. The waveform appearance drops in amplitude while the audio plays as expected.
Attached is a simple demonstration. A continuous sine wave clip is separated then crossfaded. The crossfade waveform draw in the bottom track should appear the same as the corresponding area in the top track. I remember this same bug from a release around PT9 which was immediately fixed. It's important to have the graphic accurately represent the faded audio. Seeing the phase result correctly helps to get the crossfade to sound smooth. I'm not sure if this bug happened in 2021.3. (I upgraded from 2020.11 which was fine). |
Re: Crossfade X-Fade waveform graphic bug
Yep. Been that way a long time. Ages. It's a little unnerving, as it makes you wonder if you chose the right shape, or if PT messed up. But as long as it sounds right, it's not too bothersome to me. Still, you'd think they'd have fixed it by now.
