Problems launching 7.1 on my new MacBook Pro 10.4.8
I recently upgraded from an older version of Protools when I bought a new MacBook Pro (10.4.8 OSX)
I bought version 7.1 Protools LE from DigiDesign and installed it on the new Mac. It came with a 2.33 ghz Intel Core2 Duo processor & 2 GB/667 mhz DDR2 of SDRAM. Protools 7.1 appeared to install properly, but after I connect the 002 Rack via firewire and a lacie harddrive via firewire, the desktop image fades to a darker shade and says, "You must restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or click the restart button." It restates this message (I'm assuming in French, German & Chinese. I'm hoping there is a simple solution or that my simple mind is just overlooking something? TIA, Ben Smith Boone NC |

You need to uninstall 7.1 and install 7.1.1 or higher. Pro Tools LE 7.1.1 is the first version to support Intel Macs.

Cool, I knew it was either a PT upgrade needed or a Mac OSX...one more quick ? and I'll go back to lurk mode. Will Digidesign send me this since I just bought 7.1 (I did the digital download) or do I have to buy 7.1.1?

As long as you have your authorization code from 7.1, you can get this update free. No problems. Also, I'm new to PT too, but I think you need the PACE software or something. I know I had to download it. Look for that up in the stickied threads. |

You don't need a Pace iLok for version 7.1.1
