What is \"DAE error-1122 was encountered.\"

My new Pro Tools HD system failed to open twice and each time gave me this error message.
"DAE error-1122 was encountered."
On the third try, the program opened fine.

Can someone tell me what that means?
Is this sort of thing a regular feature of PT (I've heard rumors),
or was it just a one-time curve thrown to this newbie?

Below is what Digi recommends...... after you roam around for a while, you will notice that the "trash preferences..etc" comes up all the time. Do it. The improperly installed flex cable is also common on new setups. good luck, SB

Empty the trash then Restart the computer.

TDM flex cable installed incorrectly. Shut down the computer and check that the flex cable is connected to port B of the Core Card and port A of the first process or accel card, subsequent cards should have port A connected to port B of the previous card. For more details see page 34 of HD Getting Started Guide

You may have a bad Accel card. There have been some manufacturing tolerance problems resulting in a "timing reset issue" on newer Accel cards. Contact your dealer OR Digi Tech Support by phone to exchange out your cards if need be. (Point your dealer to the link below if you have any problems.)

The tell tale sign is if you *constantly* get -1122 Errors and have to attempt multiple start ups to boot even after using the Pro Tools Pref & Database Helper app.

Not a one time curve. . . you may have some real trouble. See the link "blackmacdaddy" put in his post and you will see. . .

Read the 2 posts above and do as they say. Try the steps first, but don't pull your hair out before you call Digi on this one.

The only thing I would add is to try and run Digitest as well, but even if the cards pass that does not mean all is ok.

Do you ever have a startup problem?

i had this error yesterday for the first time after installing 7.4. exactly the same procedure! never seen this before in nearly two years of working with 6.9 and 7.1 with the same core and accel card...
i haven´t touched the cards inside my G5 since the first install!

Thank you BaileyBass, your suggestion and explanation of which prefs to trash got me up and running again......
never saw this DAE error before today.

Had this problem with one of our G5s with HD3 PCI-X cards. For months, couldn't figure out what it was. A restart would usually temporary solve the issue. Finally got around to install fresh copy of OSX and PT8, but problem persisted. Long story short... it was bad RAM!

I have this from time to time like twice a month or so... restart always solves the problem for me...
