PT Studio Renewal
 

I got an email from Avid to evaluate my annual renewal options. I have an offer where I can save $100 per year if I create a whole new Pro Tools account.
My renewal is 12/13/2022 and the offer is good until 1/4/2023.

Q1 - Should I disable auto-renew and just purchase the new PT on 12/13, or prior to 12/13? In other words, when is the best time to let my current annual subscription lapse?

Q2 - Will this require a full uninstall and and reinstall???

Q3 - Why do I need to do a whole new purchase instead of Avid just discounting my renewal?

You can disabled Auto Renewal and when your license expires simply purchase the new subscription. You'll get a new license but the software doesn't need to be reinstalled. It's available in https://my.avid.com/products#MyProducts

No.

Install an license are two separate things, but you obviously need to have both. With that said, if something changes in your licensing it does not necessitate new install.
