OSX panic shutdown possibly Mbox related?
hey guys,
i looked around in the forum/search and didn't find much, and after asking the guys on the Mac forum, I am trying my luck here. My MacbookPro is experiencing panic shutdowns frequently after i have been running Pro Tools. It doesn't happen right when I quit, but it does happen almost everytime i have closed Pro Tools recently. The guys in the mac forum asked for my panic log and so you can find that here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread....85786&tstart=0 They suspected from seeing that that the problem might be related to the Mbox driver.(???) I have a macbook pro originally came with tiger(intel core2duo) recently upgraded to Snow Leopard(10.6.2), and added 2G of RAM so 4GB total now. I have Mbox2 and am running Pro Tools8 LE version 8.0.3 If you all need more information please let me know. |
Re: OSX panic shutdown possibly Mbox related?
If you unplug the Mbox 2 at any point while your computer is running, it will Kernel Panic on shutdown...even if you plug it back in again. It's an (unfortunately) old bug.

Don't update to 8.0.3 until they fix it.
