Importing SD2 files?
Hey guys.
A friend sent me some bounced session files via FTP --he sent them in SDII format because we thought it would be easiest, but the files are showing as unreadable. They were recorded on a Mac, I'm using a Mac. He uploaded the folder that held them, and I downloaded the folder. When I try to import them to my session, I'm getting the message "Audio 1_04.sd2 is unreadable by Pro Tools". What the heck am I missing? |
Re: Importing SD2 files?
There may be a problem with the file.
For example, Audio FTP'd thru a PC server can sometimes lose their "header", the computers way of knowing what to do with that file. Try sending them again. try using ichat/msn mesenger/etc to "send file" Use Soundhack to fix the header. www.soundhack.com Try "www.yousendit.com" Check your FTP clients settings, make sure it's not altering the file in anyway. Try opening them in another program. |
Re: Importing SD2 files?
Thank you~!
I had him compress the folder and try to send that, ans well as convert the session files to AIFF and send a folderload of THAT. w00t. We'll see what works. Thank you for the suggestions! |
Re: Importing SD2 files?
Both of those methods should work -- using Stuffit will retain the sd2 files' resource forks. AIFF files don't use resource forks.
