Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
roy, thanks for listening. the tunes were all recorded in a bar in my home town. we had a company come with their "bus recording studio thing" they ran lines out to the bus and used some room mics as well. i have yet to unmute the room mics and the overheads. those are my favorites as well. the show was originally recorded on DA-88 tapes, i finally got them this past summer and dumped them down into protools 8 tracks at a time. (at two sets at an hour and 45 minutes, that took me 23 hours to drop them all in and burn them onto disks, so i could bring them home) i didnt have my 001 yet, and had to do it at the studio, and could only rent one tascam DA-88 machine from the local music store. all together, there will be 25 or 26 songs, ane being a cover of billie jean (woohoo). as i work on more songs, i will be uploading them to that site, once my internet connection stops crapping out. thanks to all who have listened. Hi folks,
I recorded my new album This Time at home on a DIGI 001 / WinXP (except drums, recorded at Actiondale Recorders ), and mixed at Nickel & Dime in Atlanta on a Pro Tools 5.1 Mix Plus system. |

I listened to the first 'snippet' of each song. My favorite is definitely 'Motorhead March', but I also like the intro on 'Mech Wander'(and the piece itself). I like the guitar sound and energy on 'Skate Bored' too. It's interesting that 'Beach Bum' actually has a little more sound presence than some of the other songs that are meant to sound 'heavier'. It almost sounds like it was recorded and mixed a little differently than most of the others. But, very good job, man! Best of luck on the project, and keep us posted... Thanks, Roy p.s.I'm looking forward to hearing the rest soon. |

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
thanks so much Roy, I really appreciate it.
Beach Bum was in fact recorded mixed and mastered separate from the other tunes. Originally I had mastered it at a lower volume since it was meant to sound ¨older¨, my boss didn´t agree so I remastered it and it came out like that. You can order a copy for review from Promusic (800-322-7879, ask for Mike Spitz and tell him Jorge sent ya) The CD is not for sale (not that you´d want to buy it LOL), its meant to be licensed as indivudual tracks but you can review the CD for free for 30 days or so.... Off to visit my mom. Thanks again, C-ya! Jorge |
