Hey Brandon,

Cool tune kinda Blinkish, nice job. my only suggestion would be this. It sounds as if your going for a syncopated type melody in the verses, (wich is cool) but the vocals are a little out of time (not key, just time).

the hi hat work your drummer is doing makes it even more critical to stay in time vocally. the rest of the tune the timing is great, but the flow of the song is stumbling a bit in the veses. (especially the first one) as you know (vocally) that is the first part the listener locks into.
A thumbs up though, You're comin to Hollywood!!

great job and good luck,

Bloux

I had posted this song, but wasn't happy with the guitar work. Now I'm fairly happy...

As always Roy it sounds good.

I sort of remember this from before. I doubt the old version is still around to listen to. Would be interesting to go back to.

The sounds great, but it is somewhat bright, to my ears anyway. None the less, sounds quite good.

Thanks!

Mark,
Nice piano sound!...really present and warm. I like the bass as well. So, if the demo came preplayed, are you mixing this somehow in Gigasampler? It really sounds great...
Thanks for letting me listen. You are steering me towards Gigasampler, just by all these cool sounds you're getting, I tell you...

Thanks, Roy

Roy,
Glad you like the sound. This is just a commercially available MIDI file and commercially available libraries. I'll send you a copy of the MIDI if you want. It's from the guys who do 'Band in a Box' I think. It was given to me.

The PTLE session is 3 MIDI tracks and 3 stereo Aux tracks linked to ADAT channels 1-6 as returns for the 3 instruments. I have another Aux track as a reverb return and a Master fader. That's it.

I play the session, the audio comes back and gets bounced immediately to disk. Nothing more than that.

Cheers,
Mark

Just checked out this site for the first time. Some great stuff on this thread guys!
It's amazing how polished a sound you can get from a Digi001, a decent mic and some great playing and tunes.
Just got a website up for the first time, not as hard as I thought it would be, I believed it was all to do with computer programing and I was going to turn into a geek!

I've just updated to streaming audio playback with Windows Media Player, there's mp3's on there as well.

Anyway here's some of my band's tunes, check out some of the songs and let us know what you think if you have the time.

Sounds good Brandon. Very "Green Day". Are the drums recorded live? They sound good and punchy. Compressed through the digi?

Nice.

Soundsurfr, Drums are live but recorded analog not with digi. We spent 600 dollars at 35 an hour (because I suck at drums and it takes me a while to get a good take) that is why we bought the digi001. Matt Wienegar recorded for us in Utah if anyone knows him. He was in Slider. He had tons of sweet mics. I desire that drum sound but do not have the mics. Thanks for the input.
