Mbox Preamps

I've hooked up a mic to source 1 then source 2 turned up the preamps had it on mic level had the track record armed and all i can hear is a sort of medium pitched electronic sound, no sound comes through the mic and I'm wondering if my preamps are completely shot. any answers?

Make sure you delete that mistaken duplicate post before you cause a lot of confusion.

Here are some questions for you:

1. What kind of microphone is it? Does it require phantom power?
2. What kind of cable are you using to connect it with?
