Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
I started the Pro Mastering: Before and After thread with the latest project I just finished. It got a lot of attention from there, but I thought I'd post it here as well (incase some DeathRock fans missed the other post). We had it mastered a couple weeks ago. They were recorded and mixed on my 001 with PTLE 5.1.1 and only digirack plugs (on all but vox and drum overheads. I'd say more, but I gotta run. (BTW, not my band. Friends of mine)
Here they are... http://www.disposableproductions.com/masters/ |

DB- nice song, good mix. I've always wanted to try my hand at a techno type song but I've never gotten around to it. Everytime I listen to any of your songs I get excited about the possibility of doing one but, alas, it never happens. Anyway, great stuff. Love the bass work.

Phat, DB. Berrry, Berry Noiwce. When's the album coming out?
BP - you've got that 60's/70's Grateful Dead/Woodstock era feel going. Cool. I like the lyrics, too. |
Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
Just listened to a handful of recent posts. We should stream this stuff live on Live 365 or something...a 24 hour DUC internet radio station!
Anyway... BadPerson - Light Ahead is very cool. A nice, warm, full mix with a not-so-biting guitar playing really tasty chops. Nice job. I like the relaxing, vibey mix. Nice job! ee99ee - Astronomy isn't that bad at all. You did a nice job on the guitar separation and sound. It's not the best singing I've heard in my life, but you did a good job putting the vocals in the right place. I never felt like I lost them at all. Nice work. viljoen - I Need You sounds really good. I love the tight, tough snare. Adds some "pop" to the song. Pianos are a bit sterile and electronic to my liking...acoustic piano would go great with that drum sound, IMO...but it sounds great. Good luck with the record! Kris - STIA remix is indeed funky. Funky as hell. I like the DaftPunk sweep effect...it got me thinking...the vocals holding steady while the rest of the mix sweeps behind it might sound even cooler. I would have tried that. The vocals are great. The female vocalist is really good! It's such a pleasure to record and mix a great female singer...easy on the ears after hours of mixing! Gene - If you want some criticism (if you must have it) on Waving Goodbye, I would only say that the lead synth is a tad too loud. The instrumentation is so pleasant to listen to and the lead line would cut through with even more mystery if it was mixed lower...what I mean is, it would have more character if it was a tiny bit more "distant"...but I'm nitpicking...I really enjoyed the tune! Roy, sorry to be stepping on your moderator toes, but I want to comment on a few songs here so frankly, I can hear more comments on my stuff. I value what you guys have to say, and I would personally like to get more criticism and comments. It seems like I use every one I get! Keep up the great work guys! I'll comment on a few more when I have time. Regards all, Bill http://www.murphonics.com/pages/duc |
Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
Thanks Bill,
This is what I was looking for. I did drop the lead guitar in the middle to let the supporting melody to take over, but I do see your point. The lead guitar should not have that much presence, it doesn't really need it. This is great, that you so much !!! Take Care, Gene |
