recording 8 channels at once?
from a "compatible with pro tools" point of view, what would be the best way to acheive 8 channels at once? I am looking to record a drum kit and would like to have everything on a separate channel. I have a 8 channel preamp that can do 8 channel lightpipe; would the 002 accept the ADAT signal and be able to split it into its separate channels in PT (as I understand it, this isn't the intended purpose of the optical ADAT in most cases)? And if so, is there any other hardware besides the 002/002R that I could use to take the lightpipe output and split it into its appropriate channels in PT? Or is there a smarter alternative? Any ideas or comments welcome...

Re: recording 8 channels at once?
Yep!
I use the 4 on the 002R, pipe 8 in through ADAT and then I do 2-4 more through the other line ins on the digi. You can add 2 of spdif for 18 total. Works great! |
