I have a presonus adiobox interface. If I purchase a micro, will I also need an interface or can I run on my presonus?

Please dont double post. an mbox micro is nothing more than a hardware dongle to allow you to mix on protools LE with portability. its only got 1 output, an 1/8 inch headphone jack. im not sure how you mean how u can run your presonus... it will nto work with PTLE if thats what your asking.

Re: mbox2 micro

So "not work with PTLE" means I cant record thru another interface? Just mix?
Im trying to find a way around using a (what I think) lesser quality interface.

Y.B.,
The MBox Micro will allow you to do two things. One is that it will allow you to open the ProTools software. There are no inputs on the micro as you know, so you won't be able to record audio with it. And just because you have ProTools open with the Mbox Micro, that doesnt mean ProTools will then recognize a non avid/digidesign interface for recording. The only recording you will be able to do into ProTools while using the micro would be midi data for virtual instruments/etc. via something like the M-Audio "Uno", which is what i'm currently using, or some other suitable/qualifying midi interface to fit your midi needs. Otherwise, an interface HAS to be from Digidesign/Avid with audio inputs for u to be able to record audio into ProTools, regardless of which version of the software the interface was designed to work with. Hope the info helps
