11R A-to-D converter cal?
Can somebody in the know tell me what calibration the 11R uses to go from analog to digital? I notice that when I meter through the analogue main rig outputs (VU meters) but record through the AES connections, the analog outs are lower in output, therefore, the levels I meter via analogue (volume knob on 11R at "10.0") which seems like -18 or -20dBFS, is not the same as the digital output, which seems more like -14dBFS = 0VU.
If the ADC in Eleven rack was known, I could calibrate the meters to read the same levels. In a perfect world, these outputs would have parity. |

Here are the specs for the Eleven Rack calibration.
XLR Main Outs: +19dBu (bal), +13dBu (unbal) @ 0dBFS FX Loop Sends: +15 dBV (unbal) @ 0dBFS Line Inputs (+4dBU): +18dBu (bal) @ -1dBFS Line Inputs (-10dBV): +4dBV (bal) @ -1dBFS FX Loop Returns (HiZ/Inst): +14 dBV (unbal) @ -1dBFS |

You're the boy, Chris!
Am I interpreting this correctly: XLR Main Outs and Line Inputs are -15dBFS = 0VU = +4dBu |

Y'know what'd be cool is to collect factual information like this someplace where it's readily found. Maybe a wiki, or something…?

Picture Start, you are correct.
TieDyed, do you mean something like an Eleven Rack FAQ? Well, we have one of those, but there is some stuff, such as this calibration info, that I've been meaning to add to it. http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=270510 |

Chris
To confirm, are the fx send and returns unbalanced, or are they TRS enabled? Cheers |

Here are some other tidbits (your posts, BTW) I've found helpful or interesting; these should be added to the FAQ, IMO: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/sho...&postcount=304 http://www.thegearpage.net/board/sho...3&postcount=46 |
