startup problems
 

Got the 001 and I've not having a good experience...so far. I was testing it out for the first time by playing back a 4.3 created session and it froze. I rebooted the BW Mac, 350Mhz, 256MB with Orange Micro 906F, ATI second vid card, and OS 8.6 (freshly initialized then installed the OS and then immediately installed PT LE.) The boot-up sequence kept freezing at the purple Digi extension with a musical note on it. I had to cold boot to get back in. This startup problem persists. What could be happening?

My memory has been checked overnight by Ramometer and TechTool. I'm at a loss. I took out all cards except the 001 and it booted up, but then it didn't on a second restart. Something is happening. I was going great with 4.3 and no extra sound hardware. Now things are haywire.

Also, my K1000 and QS6.1 are not recognized by OMS. I tried hooking both of them up separately with no luck.

I just upgraded the firmware of the Orange card (from 1.18 to 1.25) and so far so good on the startup problem.

But the MIDI still perplexes me.

I spoke too soon. I still have the startup problem. It is intermittent and I can't figure out what causes it. The computer freezes between the Digi init and OMS extention.
