Making the circled P symbol?

Does anyone know which font and key cap combination will yield the circled P symbol on the mac. I need to print up some CD labels and I can get the circled C but not the P.
Thanks for your help with this OT

Try the option + g key. © is the symbol I assume you are looking for.

Hmmmm, did you read the original post? He said P, not C.

Hey OT, I stumbled across this symbol after needing it and going as far to make a special font with just that symbol...anyway I found it in the "webdings" font which is pretty much installed on most macs these days...select webdings and then do this key sequence: option "U"
then shift "E"...kinda weird but there it is.

What is the circled P for? I work in packaging design, never use it.

Doesn't it mean that something is certified Kosher?

Re: Making the circled P symbol?

They're both copyright symbols, the "c" is for the embedded song (form PA) for the songwriter(s); the "p" is for the sound recording (form SR) for the record company, usually.

If you're doing demos, you only need the "c". If it's a master, and you own the master recording, then it should have the "p" symbol on it.

I've requested that Neato include the "p" symbol; they only have the "c" symbol in their little labelling system.

...but I'd like to know a source also. My Mac runs PTLE, but I do my labelling on my PeeCee (and posts like this ).

Lets see, K is for kosher, Circled D is for Kosher dairy and a Circled U is for Orthodox Kosher. Look at some cereal boxes.....

Learn something new everyday... Noticing little cirlced "P" on some of my cd's. Cool.

TM is for trademark, typically placed next to a logo while it is in the process of being registered ®. Copywrite © is used as a desginator for the year the work was created. ie © 2001 KamaSutra
A circled "S" is a service mark, meaning the government or whatnot is using the property of another for Official use.

I made a very simple font, shift P creates a circled P character. Thats the only character in the font. So load it to your system, then select that font to type a circled P ( shift P), then select your usual text for the rest of the legal line. Very simple. Created With helvetica regular type face. May not be suitable for very small white text, but should work fine for down to 6pt black overprint. Gimme some feedback and I can add to it. Should get you by in a pinch.
