Audio disappearing on PT Track
 

When I drag a clip inside a track the audio disappears, the outline of the clip remains. I have to press undo to get the audio back.
It happens intermittently.
I have thrashed the preferences.
Started happening after I updated to Protools 2020.12. Running on Win 10.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Is it possible you are in Shuffle mode and the clip just moved to the beginning of you timeline?

No I'm in slip mode.
The outline of the clip is not disappearing just the audio wave within the clip.

When I move the clip the outline remains until I try play the clip. Then the outline disappears as well as the waveform within the clip (there is no sound either way)
CPU is approx 5%.

Elastic audio on or off on suspect track? Keep your Task Manager open and see if a background task is taking place.

Select Playlist view to see if maybe clips are overlapping as there is a setting(I think in Preferences) to send overlapping clips to another playlist:o

Elastic audio is off and the preference isn't selected for "send overlapping clips to another playlist". Beginning to look like a bug and not operational error.

For what is it worth I have had the same thing happen. I have so many little issues that sometimes I don't know if it is me, my computer, or the software. I have a solid year of PT under my belt, so I think that still makes me a goo goo baby beginner.

Does this happen on multiple sessions or is it seemingly tied to one or a few ?
