About 2 months is our best current estimate. It's obviously a major undertaking, being a brand new platform for Pro Tools LE and RTAS, which are themselves rather new. It's going well, though.
The Digi 001 hardware will not change, by the way, you'll just be able to use it with Pro Tools LE on either a Mac or Windows 98.

what i would like to hear is "we have a current working beta and are just working the final bugs out. It'll be on the shelf in 2 months"

because as a software developer, i know if you say 2 months and you don't have a working beta .. you really mean 6... AT LEAST... http://www.digidesign.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif what's the status on it?

Click on "News" on the main website or go to http://www.digidesign.com/news/ and you'll find a press release about our preview of Pro Tools LE 5.0.1 for Win 98 at the NAMM show a month ago. So yes, we've had working alpha or beta versions for some time.
(we also sent out a hundred or so beta copies to Windows AMIII owners for feedback on all different kinds of systems)

As for when it hits the shelf, it will almost certainly be Q2, which means sometime in the next 3 months, not 6.

Hey all.
I was in the Guitar Center in Hollywood over the weekend, and picked up the 001. My question is, what do I need to do in order to get all the windows software when it comes out?

As I will be purchasing the Toolbox XP for Windows, is there any way to get a copy of the beta version to test out?

The beta program is not accepting new testers at this time. If another beta program happens in the future, we'll announce it in the PT LE(or other relevant) section.

Carcaridon:
Just send in your registration card and be sure to register as a Windows user. You'll be sent the Pro Tools LE 5.0.1 for Windows 98 software when it is released. It's free, but you need be registered as either Mac or Win in order to receive the free upgrade for your platform of choice.
