SCSI and FIREWIRE drives are cheap now.
So should I consider buying one??
My ide 60 gig is filling up and I will need an additional harddrive. here are the prices. FIREWIRE HD 60gb $60.00 FIREWIRE CARD $18.00 SCSI 47gb HD $50.00 SCSI-II, 4MB Cache, 68PIN, great from RAID systems! SCSI CONTROLLER $44.00 AHA2940UW SCSI3 PCI ULTRA WIDE CONTROLLER CARD AHA-2940UW I got the prices from pricewatch.com will choosing scsi or firewire change the PCI usage bar in the ptle performance meters?? SCSI is nice cuz it takes little cpu usage to run it. Using an IDE harddrive takes up more cpu resources. Does FIREWIRE also take up resources and does it use up the PCI bus? Also would using SCSI or FIREWIRE reduce the pci bus and cpu resources to allow me more Plugins?? |
