old system still works

I have session 8 with disk i/o and 882 i/o interface on quadra 840av, still works.

What can I get to expand on this system? Nubus card? Midi? Any ideas? I don't have enough dough to get a powermac.

-Session 8 hardware is not expandable...it is limited to 8 voices.

-Pro Tools v4.0.1 is the last version that is compatible with Session 8 (PT Project) hardware.

-If interested, you may use MIDI. Connect a serial interface to the computer and install OMS.

The Mac Session 8 card Was/is Upgradable to a TDM Disk I/O by adding the Piggy Back Card along with a Nubus Farm Card. You'll have to find a piggy back card.....and a used DSP Farm.

I have a pro tools project card (nubus) running with PT 4.2, That IS the last to support nubus hardware.. and Nubus is right, you can upgrade a project card to a Disk I/O by adding a single TDM piggyback card, Long live NuBus!!! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]
