Anybody have a life vest?

Because I'm about to jump ship.

Just bought a brand new PC. Happy that it was going to coincide with PT10, was expecting 64 bit plus RAM cache features. EXCITED!

Now this crap has just got me looking for an alternative DAW which offers all this without the AVID corporate greed.

Just because you're ingrained in the post production world doesn't mean you can screw over all your customers offering over-priced catch-up features.

Well if Avid is greedy, then so are you.

Avid wants to maximize its free capital by setting its price points.

You want to maximize your free capital by getting something for free or really cheap.

Greed works both ways, and thats a good thing.

Pro Tools 9 works fine for me, and I'm sticking with it for now, why not stay with PT9 or PT8 if thats what you have?

Anyway, there are many DAW's out there that have features and price points for everyone. No reason you can't put out great tracks using a DAW with a price point that you are comfortable with. So good luck in your search, and check back this time next year - hopefully by then we will have PT11 64 bit.

You almost sound like Gordon Gekko there:eek::D

Im also dissapointed we did not get 64 bit this time around, but kind of expected it with all the ram disk talk these last few weeks.

However, i will buy PT10 just to get some of the new features.
Hope the AAX plugins are significantly more efficient than RTAS.
