Core Audio Setup
I can't get Quicktime 6.5.2 or Safari 1.3 to play thru the 6.7 Core audio driver on my 002. I'm not finding the Core Audio Setup page that allows you to designate applications. Any suggestions? Thanks, JB

Re: Core Audio Setup
I'm having the same problem. I updated to quicktime 7 and that totally messed everything up so I used the 6.5.2 reinstaller. Quicktime works fine unless I use core audio in which case it crashes. Digi - you got any solutions?

Re: Core Audio Setup
I presume you mean Digidesign Coreaudio. Plain Coreaudio is Mac's system, and PT, and Digi h/w don't use it. You can't find it because there isn't a setup page for individual apps anymore, and you wouldn't be the first to scratch your head, and ask why? Basically the new driver will allocate the resource to the first compatible app. that you open. Change all the settings in System Prefs to your Digi device, and they should work automatically.
iTunes, Reason, B4, Lounge Lizard, GPO etc won't work standalone if you turn the device on after launching the app, as they default to coreaudio (mac) if they can't find the h/w, or simply won't work, and they stay like that until you retsart or shutdown/reboot. I've also found that if you use these things for a while, PT can be very glitchy to non-existent, i.e. launch quits. So I always Restart before launching PT. |
Re: Core Audio Setup
So at this point I have reinstalled Quicktime 7.0.1 which will allow audio streams to be seen by the Digi Core Audio Driver (it would not recognize QT 6.5.2) but will not play 2 clips in succession unless the browser is quit and rebooted or QT preferences are trashed or I reboot the commuter. Very frustrating. I'm also in the process of trying Detour to side step the Digidesign/QT glitches.
