PT 12.6 HD and the 003, will it work?

I'm planning on upgrading to PT HD 12.6 and I see on Avid's site it IS qualified for use with the current HD 12 software.

If the 003 will not operate with PT 12.6 HD I would not have a way to monitor without going to an S3 or 3rd party monitoring system.

Can anyone at Avid let users of PT 12.5.2 standard and 003 hardware know what to expect if we upgrade and spend the $1899?

Thanks!

I'm on Yosemite with 12.5.2 and the 003 is working great.

This being the case, to the best of my knowledge nothing internally is changing that would keep 12.6 from working also.

Just to clarify I'm talking about running HD stand alone with the 003. Which currently you can not do without a qualified piece of HD hardware plugged in.

So are you running both? Perhaps native with a 003?

Can you please list full specifications of your system?

I missed this the first time I looked at this post.

Can you provide a link where Avid says PTHD supports the 003?

Not true. Running 12.4 HD on Win 10 with zero issues.

Pro Tools HD no longer needs HD hardware to run hence "Stand Alone"

Correct under 12.6. But under 12.5 it does. So I was asking ripekeai what exactly they owned NOW because I'm unsure how they might have tested the 003 with HD since the standalone software has not been released yet.

You haven't needed HD hardware to run the HD software for years, since version 9 of Pro Tools. Same time the opened up Pro Tools LE to third parties. It has been compatible with any Core audio or ASIO device. Im using a 003 with PT 12.5.2 and 12.4; and have been doing so since Pro Tools 10 HD. As long as your audio interface is seen by your operating system, you should be able to use it in Pro Tools HD. Before now the only "official" way to get the HD software standalone was to have the complete production toolkit and upgrade to the standalone HD software. You have HD software installed on your computer, as Pro Tools only had a single installer. You just need the HD asset on you iLok to unlock the additional features.
