Talkback mic alternative
 

I've read all the threads and have the same issues as everyone else when engaging the talkback mic on Carbon. Lots of fan noise and a VERY annoying click/pop every time I engage/disengage the mic. Since there doesn't seem to be a real solution, what is everyone doing for a work around?

I used an external mic with the Sound Radix Mute-o-Matic plugin(free).

Make a track and put a 1K tone on it. Make another audio track, mic, input, and put a gate plug on it. External trigger the gate input from the 1K tone. Turns the talk back automatically on/off as DAW transport starts and stops.

I did exactly this for years before Mute-o-Matic was released. That plugin just makes everything easier(plus it can work the other way and kill reverbs and delays when you hit stop).:o
