drum triggers
Hey Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had any tips as to which drum trigger software/plugin to get. I tried tapping in a kick replacement, but it wasnt that great. At work we have a drum trigger unit, but I don't want to take it home. Can it be done using just what comes with protools or is there a free trigger plugin that is compatible with protools that can output midi to a midi instrument (sr16 or keyboard?) thanks. Mark |

I love this guy. Works great and it's very affordable. You'll need the wrapper though. These guys were trying to get Digi to let them do an RTAS version but, last I heard, weren't having any luck... |
Re: drum triggers
I started out (against the advice of others) with the cheap button triggers. They don't work. I then tried the ddrum redshots and they work better. I used an Alesis DM5 for the sound module. I have a friend who really likes the ddrum module and has used audio tracks to trigger it as well. But for replacing drums in an existing audio track, I got rid of the triggers and modules and bought drumagog instead. For $149 you really can't beat it. see www.drumagog.com

Re: drum triggers
is there any way to trigger an SR16 with audio from protools to trigger the midi in an SR16 and bring back the audio? I may just have to find a DM5 from someone or something. Been thinking about drumagog.......is it a CPU hog or what?

Re: drum triggers
Drumagog seems to be pretty well behaved. I'm able to insert on several tracks (kick, snare, 4 toms) without a problem.

There's always the poor man's soundreplacer:
tab-to-transiet set marker repeat Select marker paste sample repeat |
